The team of the Wrocław Mime Theater begins the (R)EVOLUTION project, in which they will meet young theater artists working in the mime convention for the first time.
The director Daria Kopiec is the first of the artists invited to the residency. The aim of the meetings under the (R) EVOLUTION project is to conduct workshops and research on the influence of pantomime on contemporary artists and the language of theater, and to search for new means of expression. At the same time, it will be an opportunity to confront directing visions with the pantomime convention. The next stage of the project is the preparation of performances with the participation of actresses and WTP actors by the invited artists.
Daria Kopiec – student of the Directing Department of the Theater Academy in Warsaw. A graduate of the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theater Leon Schiller in Łódź at the Cinematography Department, specialization: Animation and Special Film Effects. Intern at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels – La Cambre in Brussels.
Member of the Polish Filmmakers Association.
Winner of a research scholarship for members of the Youth Circle of the Polish Filmmakers Association (2010), the Artistic Award of the President of Gdynia (2006), an artistic scholarship from the President of the City of Łódź (2013), and a creative scholarship from the budget of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2014).
Participant of the Berlinale Talents 2017 program.
Winner of international awards for animated films: „Cosmos”, „Rivers”, „Gucio Enchanted”. The performance, entitled „Daughters of Lear”, won 7 awards at international theater festivals in Gdańsk, St. Petersburg, Bilbao, Spoleto and Beijing. The show directed by her entitled „Fairy Tales of the Robots”, staged at the Pinokio Theater in Łódź, was awarded with the GOLDEN MASK.
Winner of the MODELATORNIA 2017 competition, the award was the performance of the performance titled „NUNS COME AWAY AFTER SILENCE” at the Teatr im. Kochanowski in Opole. Winner of a scholarship from the „Young Poland” program (2018). Her television show „CASE RITY G.” realized as part of TEATROTEKA won the Grand Prix at the TEATROTEKA FEST 2018 festival.
