The premiere of the performance Human, created in cooperation with the Korean music group Maytree and the Polish band Krzikopa, will take place on March 3 on the YouTube channel of the Wrocław pantomime. The performance is part of the international project Online Global Art Busking.
The plot of the pantomime performance is based on Korean legends and myths and tells the story of a boy living on the island. Dramatic circumstances force the boy to escape and face the unbridled power of nature.
The music for the performance was composed and performed by Maytree (KOR) and Krzikopa (PL).
In turn, for the piece by the Korean singer and musician Hareem, the artistic group WTP prepared a movement-pantomime impression, which will also be shown on March 3.
One of the surprises of the project is the participation of the popular k-pop band BTS, which has been nominated for a Grammy Award, MTV Music Awards and People Choice Awards. An original international and intercultural movement impression will be created for the piece Dynamite.
Work on this international project was documented on an ongoing basis, and the collected material will be used to create a two-episode documentary that will premiere on the Korean public television KBS.
Online Global Art Busking is a project that was created on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Poland, and it is based on a reflection on the situation of artists and viewers in the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The specific situation of closure and isolation in which artists from two diametrically different cultures find themselves, is a pretext to search for common points in the perception of art. Work on the project was conducted in a sentence, using new media or online messaging. It was in this virtual space that the artists searched for new means of expression, forms and themes.
