How far can we bend the human body to fit an algorithm? Drawing on the world sketched by Aldous Huxley, the creators present a parody of Silicon Valley. The action unfolds in the center of a laboratory-like space, during an absurdly prolonged experiment – one that has lasted for who knows how long, and whose end is uncertain. The actors take on the roles of engineers of their own bodies: counting steps, breaths, and calories, updating muscle software, and downloading patches for skin imperfections. They squeeze the last bytes of possibility from their organisms and upload them, again and again.
Huxleyan London in this version resembles a sprawling corporate open-plan office that stretches to the horizon. The body, subjected to endless modification and distorted by the commercial and marketing gears of perpetual subscriptions, is left at the mercy of constant upgrades. Within this absurdity emerges a crucial question: what comes next? In a few decades, will we merely lease our own limbs from global brands, and hand over life decisions to artificial intelligence in a pay-per-thought model?
This choreographic performance evokes this unsettling vision through laughter, cynicism, and fear – a painful reminder that in a culture obsessed with a standardized body, imperfection might be the greatest heresy.
