Recruitment for the "Villa" Project with Zdenka Pszczołowska

Director and playwright Zdenka Pszczołowska, in collaboration with the Wrocław Mime Theatre, invites you to participate in the "Villa" project. This project consists of a series of free workshops and rehearsals culminating in a site-specific performance titled "Villa," involving the pantomime theatre ensemble.

We invite you to join the workshops aimed at creating a site-specific performance titled "Villa." The term site-specific refers to a production deeply embedded thematically and spatially in the existing setting, which in this case is the villa complex housing the Wrocław Pantomime Theatre.

Little is known about the villa at 16 Dębowa Avenue, but it is understood to be from the 19th century, commissioned by A.F.C. Kallmeyer, the owner of a chicory coffee factory located across from the current theatre. According to the current director of WTP, Agnieszka Charkot: “It was built for his daughter Klara, who lived there for years and supposedly survived two husbands. Later, the building changed its function. It was probably used as a police station, library, and private apartments.” The limited availability of information about the theatre's residence creates a desire to conduct research and also provides an opportunity to create plausible stories, filling in the gaps according to the imagination, with the "probably" mentioned by the director opening up incredible possibilities. Working on the "Villa" performance offers a unique insight into the history of the historic building, its past inhabitants, and the potential mysteries it may harbor, which will in turn reflect our collective interests.

The project consists of three segments: performance-acting workshops with Zdenka Pszczołowska, costume design workshops with Edyta Krysiewicz, and graphic design workshops with Grzegorz Myćka.

Schedule:

• Performance-Acting Workshops: 30.08-1.09 || 6-8.09 ||13-15.09 || 20-22.09 || 27-29.09 (+ premiere). Sessions will be held: Fridays 6 PM - 10 PM, Saturdays (times to be arranged with the group), Sundays 9 AM - 1 PM and 2 PM - 6 PM
• Costume Design Workshops:: 31.08 9 AM - 14 PM || 7.09 9 AM - 14 PM || 14.09 9 AM - 14 PM || 21.09 9 AM - 14 PM || 28.09 g. 9 AM - 14 PM
• Graphic Design Workshops: 7.09 3 PM - 6 PM || 14.09 3 PM - 6 PM || 21.09 3 PM - 6 PM
