Call for Entries: Directorial Debut Competition in Pantomime

Submit your original project, win, and stage a performance with the Wrocław Mime Theatre team.

We are announcing a call for entries to the Directorial Debut Competition in Pantomime. The project is aimed at emerging directors, encouraging them to incorporate the art of ensemble mime in their creative work.

◆ APPLICATION. The first stage involves verifying the submitted applications in terms of formal and artistic criteria. Directorial concepts, in the form of a director's explanation, must be sent by August 28, 2024, to the email address: konkurs@pantomima.wroc.pl.

◆ SELECTION OF THREE FINALISTS. The second stage will select three original concepts for performances, which will be presented to the public on October 12-13 at the Centrum Sztuk Performatywnych Piekarnia Piekarnia in Wrocław. The audience will have the decisive vote in choosing the winner of the competition. It is the viewers who, through voting, will determine which concept will be produced and included in the Theatre's repertoire.

◆ PREMIERE. The third stage will involve the realization of the theatrical production at the Wrocław Mime Theatre. The work on the premiere and the premiere itself must take place between December 2, 2024, and March 1, 2025.

The competition is open to students and graduates of directing who are under 35 years of age. All details regarding the application process and competition stages can be found in the regulations.
